Data Privacy and Security: What’s the Difference and Why You Need to Be Concerned About Both
The terms “data privacy” and “data security” are often used interchangeably to describe concerns over how information is managed, but they each apply to specific circumstances and ways to think about access to personal information. For medical device manufacturers and those handling sensitive clinical data, the concerns go far beyond just HIPAA compliance to the ways data is used, accessed, and manipulated. Please join us as we explore the nuances of the terms, discuss implications for devices and data collection, and consider what we can all do to better manage and protect our own and our clients’ personal information.
